Media Products & Solutions Manager Europe, Middle East & Africa, Hewlett Packard
Why did you get into digital printing? I worked in a product marketing role in the paper industry for some years and among other things was responsible for the development of uncoated grades for new printing technologies. The indigo technology and print quality directly grabbed my interest and attention. Since Indigo already in those days realized that cooperation with the paper industry would be an important factor to further grow the market, they created a new position for an 'intermediate' between Indigo and the paper industry - which is the job that was offered to me. In this new business development role I started building the media support infrastructure (through cooperation with paper mills and merchants) to increase media availability and help Indigo customers in growing their business.
In your opinion, what is so special about the new silver digital range? silver digital has been a benchmark paper as of the early days of digital printing. What advice would you give to someone who has never experienced digital printing before? Try it and be impressed! A great application for end consumers for instance is a digitally printed photo album. Everyone is making digital pictures today, but most of them still end up on a hard disk without being printed. Digital printing offers the opportunity to print your individually designed photo album, poster, calendar, etc. Simply go to one of the web based applications of an Indigo customer (70% of the photo albums is printed on HP Indigo presses) and try it.
